Demon's Souls PS5 vs PS3 Gameplay Comparison Shows Great Upgrade

Honestly the Flamelurker looks kind of generic and uninspired now. In the original game he had little fleshy bits sticking out like he was Nemesis on fire, but now he kinda just looks like some generic stock monster I'd see in a Raid Shadow Legends ad

I always thought the Flamelurker wasn't that great of a design in the original (and I'd even say it's pretty boring visually to be perfectly honest) so I've never really got the complaints surrounding it for the PS5 version being a bit different 😅

Are they just not reporting that Far Cry 6 has been delayed?

@Angelus3K I mean it's just another Ubisoft game. Not really the end of the world if we can't play a totally innovative and boundary pushing Ubisoft open world game that will totally be lacking in any bugs at launch /s

@Enuo Was anyone really doubting that this was a remake? Looks pretty remake-y to me. Not Resident Evil 2 or FFVII levels of reimagining the original, but a definite shot for shot remake that cleans it up in a lot of places.

Ok all jokes aside I'm curious to we how we loot bodies that have disintegrated. Piles of ash ala Fallout 4 maybe?

To be fair, it’s been two whole generations. It’s just like remaking a PS1 game on PS3, it’s bound to look better.

I love how the new version looks it's insanely good looking but also this comparison shows how well the original has held up! Still looks great

yeah i posted this then realized we've seen disintegration in the series before; it hasn't always been ragdoll physics

Pretty cool detail that the fire flickers in the breeze caused by motion when the Flamelurker runs around.

Why they don’t remake games that truly need a remake like PS1 or some PS2 games, imo remaking PS3 games seems unnecessary and PS4 games even more

@GKO900 In an interview with Game Informer the director said that Bluepoint were big fans of the original and specifically wanted to do a remake of Demon's Souls. So while I get why some people think remaking a PS3 game is silly, I'd rather Bluepoint work on something they're passionate about and want to do

@Tchunga If that’s the case the could’ve work on a sequel and improve everything from the first game

So a game that was way ahead of its time and was pushing tech that was notoriously difficult to work with gets its definitive version from a team that are really the best in the field at not just remastering but in some cases completley rebuilding classic games and people have gone from being "awesome...cant wait" etc to "meh..would rather have had..." I cant wait to play it even though its a remake..bluepoint if you are reading this...go back and get the syphon filter games remade/remastered please..
